Chai Mylk French Toast

French toast. A delicious but unhealthy treat, right? Not so. To prove this, our guest blogger Mimjam’s (Insta: @mimsilicious) created this ridiculously tasty twist on the French toast classic using our Chai Mylk. It’s gluten free and contains absolutely no refined sugar, additives or preservatives. And it’s as good as the classic.

x1 330ml Chai Mylk

2 tbsp. chia seeds

½ tsp. vanilla essence

4 gluten free toast

Coconut oil to fry

Optional toppings:

Coconut yogurt

Caramel sauce (find the recipe for this here)

Cinnamon powder


Pre-heat the oven to 250C.

Combine the Chai Mylk with the chia seeds and vanilla essence in a bowl. Whisk until well combined to let them soak for around 15 minutes stirring occasionally so no clumps form. Once the chia seeds have absorbed most of the liquid dip the gluten free toast into the Chia Mylk until the whole surface is covered in Mylk then repeat on the other side. Repeat this process with all four toasts.

In the meantime heat a pan with some olive oil. Gently cook the toast on each side for 5 minutes transferring them to a baking tray lined with a baking sheet. Let them crisp up in the oven at 250C for 10-15 minutes. This is also a great way to keep everything warm before your guests appear and leaves you plenty of time to do prepare other things in the meantime.

Serve the Rebel French Toast with a sprinkle of cinnamon powder, a side of coconut yoghurt and the caramel sauce that you can find here.
